Peaceful and exclusive use Peak District Campsite nr Alstonefield, with a warm welcome assured
A sole use, pop up camping field ideal for large groups (D of E, Scouts, team building, family gatherings etc.) or smaller groups wishing to seek privacy.
Our camping field takes a back to basic approach with portable toilets and a plumbed stainless-steel sink providing fresh drinking water. It is easily accessed from the road and is south facing with spectacular views of the rolling hills towards Wetton. Looking over the limestone walls you will be greeted by our inquisitive cows and sheep. Having booked our sole use field these will be your only neighbours.
What you will need to bring:
- Your usual camping equipment - including tents, seasonally appropriate sleeping bags and foam or air mattresses.
- Torches - it's very dark at night and there are no street lamps (perfect for star gazing!). Please ensure each member of your group has their own torch. You might also consider bringing extra battery operated lanterns to be used hands free in the evening.
- Camping Stove with appropriate fuel and cooking equipment (camping kettle, pans, plates/bowls, cups etc) - please ensure stoves are kept off the grass. Stone slabs are provided.
- Firepit and fuel - it can get cold at night so you may want a firepit to keep warm. You can bring your own or you can save room in your vehicle and hire ours for £20 which includes a bag of logs. Additional bags of logs are £10 each. Please ensure the firepit is never left unattended, embers are doused and water kept close by.
- Bin bags - we kindly ask that groups take their waste away with them. Our closest recycling point and local tip is in the nearby town of Ashbourne.
You might also consider bringing outdoor games (football, cricket etc), a gazebo to create a communal area, solar camping shower.
The field is a great budget option with a minimum booking charge of £110 per night for up to 20 people. Additional people will be charged £5 per person per night.
Please note the following:-
Sorry the site is not suitable for caravans, however we may welcome one campervan if the ground conditions allow – please discuss this with us in advance
Due to the location we only permit a maximum of two dogs per group and this must be discussed and agreed beforehand.
Sorry No Stag or Hen parties
Please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements, we look forward to your call.
Review
We have visited this site many times with our Duke of Edinburgh groups.
This is a fantastic, spacious campsite in the centre of the Peak District. Wonderful Peace and tranquillity and stunning views over rolling countryside and surrounded by meadows.
The site has a great ‘back to basics’ feel and has toilets which are clean, along with a large sink for washing up and mains water. What more do you need!
There is a hard standing stoned entrance to the site with easy access.
Excellent footpath network to and from the site - great for walkers or Duke of Edinburgh groups. Fantastic walks to Hartington, Wetton / Manifold Valley / Hume End / Dovedale etc. great central point for walking in the Peaks.
Site owners are wonderful and can’t do enough to help.
We will definitely be back.
