Welcome to Gateham Grange

Framed by ancient copper beeches Gateham Grange nestles at the foot of Wetton Hill, set in peaceful scenic surroundings, ideal for walking, bird watching, painting and photography.

Our long old limestone farmhouse dates back to around 1830 and has many interesting features. We came to Gateham Grange in 1984 and two years later we converted one wing of the farmhouse into a self-contained holiday cottage sleeping 4/6 persons.

Relax and unwind in your very own wing of this beautiful old house.

Gateham Cottage is inspected yearly under the VisitBritain National Quality Assessment Scheme and has achieved a 3 STAR rating enabling you to book your holiday with every confidence.

Downstairs

Gateham Cottage has a well equipped kitchen/diner with pleasant views. There is an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and radio etc. Laundry - guests are welcome to use the farmhouse utility (washing machine and dryer) by prior arrangement.

The downstairs bathroom includes, toilet, wash basin, bath with shower over, ample heating, plus two heated towels rails, also immersion heater.

Upstairs

The comfortable sitting room overlooks the pretty garden, and enjoys wonderful views. It has a remote control colour TV/radio, metal action sofa bed (more suited to children and young people). There is adequate seating for up to 6 guests and has a selection of books and games. Ample tourist information assists in planning each days activities.

Both bedrooms are nicely decorated and pine furnished. Each has antique dressing tables and built-in wardrobes. There is room in either bedroom for a cot if required.

Gateham Cottage is heated by night storage heaters included in the price. Other electricity for cooking, lighting and hot water and extra heating (if required) is by a £1 pre-payment meter. The price includes bed linen (weekly lets only), toilet rolls, soap and cleaning necessities. Towels are not included in the price but are available for hire upon request if required.

The Garden

There is a small garden with lovely views and garden furniture. There is also a large patio for sitting out next to our farmhouse. Guests are most welcome to relax and enjoy this facility and if wished take the opportunity to socialise with guests from The Coach House, or indeed ourselves on the rare occasions we seem to have the time to use it!

We do not allow smoking in Gateham Cottage and ask our guests to respect this rule.
